Role Overview
The System Administrator - Patch Management is responsible for the management, deployment, and monitoring of patches across the organization's systems. This role ensures that all endpoints, servers, and applications are up-to-date with the latest security and software updates to mitigate risks and enhance system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the patch management process, ensuring that all devices are compliant with patch policies.
- Regularly assess systems for vulnerabilities and implement necessary patches in a timely manner.
- Develop and execute patch management strategies using tools such as SCCM and WSUS.
- Monitor and report on the status of patch deployments and adherence to compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with concerned teams to prioritize and address critical vulnerabilities.
- Document patch management processes and maintain accurate records of all patching activities.
- Provide support for troubleshooting patch-related issues and ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
- Conduct patch assessment tests in a controlled environment before deployment to ensure compatibility and functionality.
- Stay updated with the latest patching technologies and trends in IT security.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in system administration with a focus on patch management.
- Proficiency in using patch management tools like SCCM and WSUS.
- Understanding of IT security best practices and patch management frameworks.
- Familiarity with operating systems including Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Arabic.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Security+, or ITIL are preferred.
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash) for automation of patch management tasks is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining compliance and security standards.
