This opportunity invites a skilled Systems Engineer to work in a dynamic environment focused on advanced systems development, integration, and governance within defense and government sectors. You will contribute directly at a military customer site, applying expertise in systems architecture, requirements engineering, and risk analysis. Working alongside a collaborative team, you’ll help shape enterprise-wide engineering processes while engaging with cutting-edge technologies including AI-enabled tools. This role offers a blend of in-person collaboration and flexible scheduling, fostering professional growth and meaningful impact on critical defense projects.
Accountabilities:
- Design and develop system architectures and engineering solutions aligned with customer requirements and defense standards.
- Perform requirements engineering, system verification, validation, and risk analysis to ensure system integrity and compliance.
- Utilize tools such as DOORS and apply defense frameworks including DoDAF to manage system development lifecycles.
- Conduct system modeling, simulation, and analysis using MATLAB, Simulink, or similar platforms.
- Lead efforts in establishing and maintaining engineering standards, governance, and enterprise-wide processes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and customers on-site to deliver mission-critical solutions.
- Support system integration activities and troubleshoot complex technical challenges.
- Participate in security compliance and maintain eligibility for DoD Secret Clearance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in systems engineering, particularly in defense or government contracting environments.
- Proficiency with systems architecture, requirements engineering, verification & validation, and risk management.
- Familiarity with defense industry standards and tools such as DOORS, DoDAF, MATLAB, and Simulink.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Experience with AI integration and innovative engineering practices is a plus.
- Certifications like CompTIA Security+, OCSMP Model User, or INCOSE ASEP are advantageous.
- Willingness to work primarily on-site at a military facility, with some remote flexibility where allowed.
