Are you passionate about making a real impact on public health? The Centre for Regulation and Enforcement (CRE) is looking for a dedicated Regulatory Control Officer to help reduce tobacco and vaping-related harm across the state.
As a key member of our team, you'll be on the front lines, supporting inspections, investigations, and enforcement activities. Your work will directly ensure compliance with critical public health legislation, specifically concerning tobacco and e-cigarette retailing and smoke-free locations. This role is perfect for a self-starter who enjoys a dynamic mix of fieldwork, collaboration, and administrative tasks. You'll gain invaluable experience in government operations and regulatory frameworks, with frequent travel across the state to conduct your duties.
Key Accountabilities:
Conduct field inspections and monitor compliance with tobacco and vaping laws
Support investigations and enforcement actions, including licensing and covert operations, applying your keen analytical and observational skills in real-world settings
Prepare and assist with official documentation, including ministerial briefings and correspondence
Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at continuous improvement within our regulatory programs
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and community partners
