Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to support our finance team. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting financial reporting activities. This role requires strong numeracy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and process supplier & customer invoices to ensure timely and accurate payment.
  • Match bank transactions with ledger entries to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and ledger accounts.
  • Conduct reconciliations on ledger balances, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure the accuracy of tax portions in transactions, including VAT and other relevant taxes, in compliance with UK regulations.
  • Prepare reports and summaries for management review.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Handle ad-hoc tasks and projects assigned by the management team, contributing to overall financial operations.

Requirements

  • Part professional qualification or a degree in a related field
  • Proven experience in a similar accounting or finance role
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP and VAT regulations.
  • Experience with Xero accounting software is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other task management applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience: Salary range from Rs. 75,000 - Rs. 100,000/month, paid in GBP, depending on experience level.
